does a retail shopping store require a servic tax registration?

shall depend on what services it is offering. Also if it using the services of GTA for transporting goods, it shall be liable to pay service tax under reverse charge mechanism.

If services are provided and if gross reciepts exceeds rs 9 lakhs then it is compulsory to get registered in normal condition.
in case of reverse charge mechanism immedieately within 30 days of u becoming liable to pay tax u need to get reg with service tax dept.
