Cost of Production means the the directly attributable cost which were incurred is producing the goods. The indirect costs are not considered for this purpose. Value of opening stock and closing stock is adjusted in to purchase for calculating the cost of material consumed. In other way it can be said that cost of production = Value of Materials consumed + Other Direct Costs
