25 March 2010 Sir, please urgently reply on following question :
1. My Business have vat register number.
we plan to start this business in SEZ in gujarat as additional place of business.

My question is can i obtain new vat(TIN) number or continue with our old tin number & inform as additional place of business to commissioner of under vat act?

But i hve question is that Sales tax department how differentiate between Regular Tax paid company & Benefit enjoy by SEZ unit? if i have liable to pay vat of SEZ Unit.
if i continue with old TIN number. Pls. advise me in detail sir. So, i can understand .

29 March 2010 Hi Bhavin,

If your original place of buisness is Gujarat VAT Registered then, you need not have to take additional TIN Certificate and you have to include that SEZ business place as a new additional place of business. Y

You can continue with old TIN number and inform to the Assessing Authority as you are taking additional place of business under VAT Act. For this, you have to fill specific forms as per Gujarat VAT Act and also you have to provide them copies of Sale deed, MOU and AOA for adding as new business place. If any tax is to be paid for additional place inclusion, then you have to go with the formalities.

30 March 2010 Hi Bhavin,

As per Andhra Pradesh SEZ business, Government has issued notification that when purchases made in SEZ units, it is not eligible to take VAT input tax credit and should be written off. When sales made from SEZ Unit, then Form I should be obtained for such. I think it differs from state to state. Please go through the VAT act in the concerned state you are looking into.
