Rejection of revised itr v acknowledgement

12 July 2012 Hi,

I had filed an ITR 2 for AY 2011-2012 within the due date and sent the ITR V that was. Later i had to file a revised return( minor error with no changes in tax computation) and sent the ITR V form. However this ITR V form was rejected as the signature was missing and incidentally i only saw the status of this yesterday. Although my original return has got processed (Intimation 143 (1) received. Please see below.
Please tell me if i need to take any action in this regard.

13 July 2012 You can still file the revised return. If you want to make corrections, file the revised return.

I wanted to know is it necassary to file the revised return again, bacause the original return does not have any major problems.

In my case, has my original return been void after processing because i filed a revised return but the ITR V was rejected.

14 July 2012 If the xml is file is uploaded but ITR V is not sent, it is deemed that the return was never filed.

Accordingly, your revised return was never filed.

So, your original return is valid.
