Registration to be made for differnce category

19 July 2009 I have assessee who registered under service tax under category advertising service where turnover above 10 lacs and charge service tax, paid.

Now he is earning income under category Brokerage and commission which is not exceeding limit of service tax exemption.

Whether the service tax applicable to category brokerage and commission?

or

Should apply for registration for category brokerage and commission or add a service tax category?

19 July 2009 If a service provider is providing more than one service he has to take separate registration for each service rendered by him subject to the eligibility of threshold limit.
As far as brokerage & commission is concerned if it arises from the services of 'Real Estate Agent/consultant' service tax registration has to be taken.This is only an example. For a correct view the full particulars of the nature of brokerage and commission of your client should be examined.

Threshold limit considered each category wise Rs. 10 lacs or for all services it is Rs. 10 lacs

and what would be the category for brokerage on advertising site?
