17 February 2015 We have a service tax registration in single name.now we want to open a new branch of our firm and want to add it on same registration number. please tell me procedures to be followed by us

17 February 2015 Any person liable to pay service tax, who,-
(a) provides taxable service from more than one premises;
(b) receives taxable services in more than one premises; or
(c) has more than one premises engaged in relation to such taxable service,
may seek centralised registration, provided he does centralised billing or maintains centralised accounting in respect of such taxable services in a premises. In certain cases the centralization can be at the zonal/regional level. In such case, each of such offices is to be registered individually. Such registrations are to be granted by the jurisdictional Commissioner where such offices/establishments are located.

17 February 2015 Sir we are aware from law. here we are asking online procedure under aces to register our firm single registration to centralized registration

18 February 2015 Centralized registration
Centralised registration is opted for in a case where the accounting and billing operations of the assessee are centralized in an administrative office which may be a branch or Head Office despite the services being provided from more than one location. The premises that is registered here is the one where the centralized accounting and billing is done. This decision is at the option of the tax payer and he can also opt to have multiple registration which however may not be advisable. The procedure would be the same as explained above with a few exceptions -
The registration in case of centralized registration would be granted by the Commissioner of Central Excise having jurisdiction over the centralized premises.
The registration formality at the department’s end takes a little longer than the period stated above and the concept of deemed registration need not apply here.
The following documents are required in addition to the documents needed under the aforesaid procedure -
a) Proof of address of each such premises or branches for which centralized registration is sought
b) Proof of address of branches, new offices opened if any
c) In case of the Centralised Registration Annexures as per the Trade Notice no. 03/2011-12-ST dated 20/10/2011 are also required to be submitted.
Normally 15-20 days are required to issue the ST reg Certificate under the Centralised Reg, as compared to 1-2 days for single premised registration

19 February 2015 sir my question is how do i amend ST registration under aces site....online procedure

20 July 2025 To amend your Service Tax registration under ACES online—for example, to add a new branch or convert your single registration into a centralized registration—here's the step-by-step procedure:

Online Procedure to Amend Service Tax Registration on ACES
Login to ACES Portal
Go to the ACES portal: https://aces.gov.in
Use your login credentials (username/password) to access your account.
Navigate to Amendments
After login, find the option for ‘Amendment in Registration’ or ‘Modify Registration Details’ (the exact wording can vary).
Select Registration to Amend
Choose your existing Service Tax registration number.
Choose the Amendment Type
Select the type of amendment you want to make. For adding a branch or converting to centralized registration, select:
“Add Branch” or
“Centralized Registration Amendment”
Enter Branch Details
Fill in the new branch details such as:
Branch address
Contact details
Jurisdiction of the new branch
Upload necessary proofs of address for new branch(es).
Upload Required Documents
Upload supporting documents:
Proof of address of new branch
Proof of centralized billing/accounting location (if applicable)
Annexures as per Trade Notice No. 03/2011-12-ST dated 20/10/2011 (for centralized registration)
Review and Submit
Review all entered details carefully.
Submit the amendment application.
Acknowledgment
After submission, an acknowledgment or ARN (Application Reference Number) will be generated.
Save this for tracking the status.
Approval and Issuance
The department will verify the details.
Usually takes about 15-20 days for approval in case of centralized registration amendments.
You will get an amended Service Tax registration certificate reflecting the new branch or centralized registration.
Important Points:
Centralized registration is possible only if billing/accounting is centralized at one place.
Otherwise, separate registration for each branch may be necessary.
Physical submission of documents might still be required at your jurisdictional Central Excise office, depending on the regional practice.
Keep copies of all submissions and acknowledgments.
