I want to know that can i able to register my firm under VAT only when my annual sale cross the limit of Rs. 500000 /- and if yes then which kind of formalities i have to fullfill.

YES THE LAW PROVIDES FOR SALES T/O OF 5 LKHS.
HOWEVER EVEN THERE IS A PROVISION OF VOLUNTARY REGISTRATION EVEN WHEN YOUR T/O HAS NOT EXCEEDED THE LIMIT. YOU CAN REGISTER BY PAYING A DEPOSIT OF 25000/- WHICH CAN BE ADJUSTED AGAINST YOUR VAT DUES
