22 August 2013 Dear Sir,
In case of a individual proprietor suppose whose name is Chaman Singh and his proprietorship firm name is ABC Advisers.

In the above case service tax registration should be apply in the name of proprietor ie Chaman Singh

or

It should be apply in the name of proprietorship firm ie ABC Advisers

Please clarify.

22 August 2013 Service tax Registration Requirements for proprietorship firm

Form-ST-1-Name, Address of Assessee, Address of the premises, Category of the service, Telephone No.
Photocopy of PAN.
Photocopy of Address proof of the premises-Telephone Bill/Ration Card/Election Card/Electricity Bill/Water Bill/Driving License.
Affidavit-for date of Commencement of Business.
If address proof is not in the name of proprietor (rented) then NOC from landlord.

23 August 2013 While filing online registration there is no column of Applicant's firm name in ST 1.

There is only two columns -

1. Name of applicant
2. Name on Pan card.

Then in which column firm name should be filled.

23 August 2013 Fill in the name of applicant col the name required to be registered and mention pan card of proprietor.

08 September 2013 For registration online facilities are available and you should register online in the name of the firm by giving all the details which will generate a code for you which will be used for all your returns and also for payments.
