20 July 2015 Sir,
I have a baby and deposited a sum of Rs.2 lakhs in SBI as fixed deposit in her name. Quarterly they are deducting a sum of arund Rs.700 as TDS. Last FY, they deducted around 2,800/- as TDS on this desposit. My daughet have PAN and bank issued TDS certificate in her name. So I want to know that how can we get this amount as refund on IT filing and this income is shown in whose ITR, me or my child. Please suggest me.

21 July 2015 From your query it seems that your daughter is minor. So FDR interest will be clubbed in your income by virtue of section 64. To claim TDS in your return you have to request bank to revise their TDS return so as to show interest and TDS against your PAN by giving a declaration on behalf of your minor daughter mentioning your name and PAN and reason that as per the income tax act FDR interest will be clubbed in your name and hence TDS certificate should be issued in your name.
