Regarding double tan of same institute

Recently we came to know the exact cause of short deduction notice. we found that our govt institue have the two tan no. The treasury office using different tan while quarterly return diff. one.
Now we want to know that how can we ractify our mistake. which tan should we retain i.e mention in treasury office pay bills or that we use in 24q.

use the tan against which taxes were deposited with the govt and surrender the other TAN
