Rcm on godown rent

12 May 2018 we have a godown on rent. godown owner not registered under gst. is there rcm to be paid by us on godown rent . if applicable then what is rate of rcm.

12 May 2018 If your supplier (Owner) is not registered and you are registered then section 9(4) of CGST Act or Section 5(4) of IGST Act will come into picture. By virtue of respective notification tax is no longer required to be paid upto 30.06.2018. However, as a registered person you are required to follow other procedures like raising self invoice etc. failing which general penalty may be applicable for procedural lapse.

Would like to hear from other experts as well.

13 May 2018 Yes tax under RCM is no longer required to be paid upto 30.06.2018.

13 May 2018 RCM was payable for the period 1st July, 2017 to 12th Octoberr 2017 in case of supply received by a registered person from an unregistered person. w.e.f. 13.10.2017 RCM on this account is not payable, the exemption is granted till 30.06.2018

Other than above exemption granted.
GST on Rent @ 18% is levied on all type of properties except Residential Properties.
