please guide ..
my query is related to income tax refund
assessee filed a return on 30/12/2011 for the A.Y. 2011-12 .The CPC replied to the assesee through email that signature mismatched ..afterwards the CPC issued notice that all last year returns can be filed upto 31/03/2014 and to be submitted till that date. Assesee sent the return on before 31/03/2014 which is received by CPC on 04/04/2014..
Now CPC cell said that return is time barred ..
the point is how a refund can be claimed for the A.Y. 2011-12 which Amounts to 46000/-

30 August 2014 Please move a petition U/s 119(2)(b) ,before the jurisdictional commissioner of Income tax , to give a direction to the Assessing officer to accept the time barred return. Then file a paper return before the Assessing Officer and seek refund.
