Profession tax on partner

Respected sir,
This query is regarding the Maharashtra Profession Tax.
1) my firm is registerd in gandhidham & i am paying the Profession tax of Partner from Mumbai profession tax no. is it correct or not??? if not what it should be like.
2) Is the same partners are getting salary from the company, is it allowable as salary or remuneration & i have to deduct profession tax again from the partner's salary.

Dear Biren,
Yes if your partner is in Mumbai you should deduct PT according to Maharashtra rules.
Professional Tax is paid on the salary itself."Salary" meaning Gross Salary not Net Salary.

Thanks for the clarity, further clarify me that one partner is paying P.T. of Rs. 2500/- as an partner in the firm & he is also Paying further Rs. 2500/- as an employee, this situation is correct or not& are we have to deduct only once or in both cases.

No double profession tax on a person in the same State.
