Hello,
If business is closed and there is no requirement of TAN then whether it is possible to close the TAN and if yes what is the procedure to do the same?

You should imediately surrender your TAN using Same form 49B other wise you will file quarterly return.

Cancellation of TAN can be done in two cases.
1. When you have been allotted more than one TAN and you want to surrender the excess TAN Number received.
2. When TAN is no more required.(due to closure of business or any other reason)
In the case of first example where you have received more than one TAN. Application form for Change and Correction is enough to surrender the TAN.
Whereas in the case of Second Example there is no form prescribed as such but, You need to intimate your Assessing Officer on a Plain paper writing that you want to surrender your existing TAN. This will be enough.
