Presumptive income u/s 44ad

One of my client is getting Retainership Fee from a Pvt. Ltd. Company. Can he claim Presumptive Income @ 8% on u/s 44AD because his groos receipts are only Rs. 6.00 Lac Per Annum.
Also can it it mandatory to write Books of Account.
