practice or job ?

15 December 2009 Hi,

i have corporate experience of almost 4 years now.
Just in last month, one of my known CA firm has offered me a job with them. They want to start a new section "Management Consultancy and Risk assurance" & they want me to lead it.
i am bit confused,
should i go back to consultancy again ? or should i stick to corporate?

but honestly, this offer thrills me a lot, as i could see my own firm, 3-4 years down the line from now. but i am equally worried and confused with the future.

can any one suggest or advice me some thing please ?

15 December 2009 If you are satisfied with your present career and if enough progress is there in last four years and the same will be continued in future also; then you should not switch to another job.

If you really want to establish your own practice; then it is a good chance.

Most of us think while in service that they are not using their skills (i.e. they think that they are not in practice) whereas practically to be in service is also more challenging. Ultimately; after some years; you may touch certain heights because you are already enjoying good infrastructure.

When you wish to establish your own consutancy; a lot of labour is to be made. Another five years will go to fully establish that profession.

If you "invest" that time in your present job by upgrading other fields relevant to your employment; then you will find more satisfied.
