What is the best way of investment? PPF or fixed deposit

PPF and FD both carry attractive rates of interest. FD's usually carry interest rate of 9-9.5% depending upon period of FD and whether FD holder is senior citizen or not while PPF gives you interest rate of 8.75% so slightly lower than FD. But from taxation point of view PPF is much better as its interest is non taxable furthermore its investment is eligible for section 80C benefit.
