29 June 2013 Dear Experts,

i am a employee in private company and want to choose one option, whether to deduct my PF by employer or to open a PPF account and deposit the same amount to that account.
for an example my employer offered me 30000/- CTC and everything contain in CTC even Employer contribution too and Employer told me that its up to you that you deduct 12+12 =24% PF or not.
there was something in my mind that to deposit that sum of 24% to PPF account rather deducting by employer.
please suggest me.

29 June 2013 Contributing to PF gives an edge. PPF isn't bad either but check the lock in period involved.
If you ask me, I'll suggest for PF.

But if you invest in PPF you will have the flexibilty to deposit different amount

And you can monitor your own funds as well as

29 June 2013 Thank you for your reply, Kishor B yes i will choose PF as employer contribution to the extent of 12% is not part of salary, and you are right vinita madame , was also thinking the same about flexibility...
