payment of tax

26 November 2010 one of my friend, who is a govt. servant and drawing officer has deducted tax and paid the same for the asst. year 2010-2011, but in the tax payment challan no. 281 he has mentioned AY 2009-2010. kindly advise how to make changes in the above and the same cannot be viewed in 26AS form.

26 November 2010 You need to write a request letter to correct the challan with mentioning fact to the ITO- tds circle.

Form 26AS view also based on TDS return if you give the challan correction, then only the challan will match with return and credit to 26AS
