PLEASE HELP ME TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF ME THAT. A BILL OF TRANSPORTER AS ON 1.04.2011 RECEIVED TO PARTY AS ON SEPT.2011 WAS NOT ADDED SERVICE TAX BY TRANSPORTER BUT PARTY HAS TO DEPOSIT SERVICE TAX . WHEN DID PARTY HAS TO DEPOSIT SERVICE TAX ? IF PARTY MADE PAYMENT TO TRANSPOTER AS ON OCT.11 WILL PARTY PAY INTEREST ON SERVICETAX OR PARTY CAN DEPOSIT SERVICE ON 5TH nOV.11WITHOUT INTEREST

07 March 2012 Dear Friend,
According to point of Taxation Rule and applicable from April, 2011 the due date of payment of Service Tax will be;

1. The date of raising of Invoce.
2. The date of providing of Service.
3. The date of payment

Whichever is earlier. Now in your case

1. Bill of transporter raised 01.01.2011
2. Received by the party Sept-2011.
3. Payment made Oct-11.

You have to deposit your tax from the date of raising of Invoices with interest i.e. 01.04.2011.
