what are the formalities to change the name of partnership. All other things would remain same.

Make the changes through the Stamp Paper Document. Inform your Registrar if you have already registered with Registrar of partnership and after receipt of confirmation copy change the name in the pan card through ammendment.

1) Execute a partnership deed in the new name in stamp paper of requisite value.
2) Register the name change with The Inspector General of Registrations of the concerned state. Form number and fee will vary from state to state.
3) Get the registration certificate from the above officer in stamp paper. Stamp value will vary from state to state.
4) Apply for change of name in the existing PAN Card through the name correction form.
5) Informing the IT department is not mandatory. However u can send a letter to the concerned jurisdictional ITO with the above enclosures.
