how should the Order no. be done in Purchase order does it start with 1 or is it a code & does it change from year to year or continue the same

18 May 2010 Well the order no., is related to the purchases ordered to the suppliers... fo rthe best analysis use the orders year wise.. like

2010-11/000001: for april to march 11.
Next year u can have: 2011-12/000001.
so you can track the orders yearly and the no. wont be repeated also.

Its on you how you want to have order no.
