09 August 2024 If you've filed an online return and later realized that you did not include details about the late filing fees in the penalty & correction challan, and you've amended it through the ST-3 online filing system, here are the steps you should follow:

### Steps to Follow After Amending ST-3 Online

1. **Confirm Amendment:**
- Ensure that the amendment has been successfully submitted and accepted by the system. Check for any confirmation messages or receipts that indicate the amendment was processed.

2. **Check Status:**
- Log in to the online portal where you filed the amendment to verify the status of the amended return. Look for any confirmation or acknowledgment that the amendment has been recorded.

3. **Inform Service Tax Department:**
- In most cases, if the online amendment has been successfully submitted and acknowledged, you do not need to send a separate notification to the Service Tax department.
- However, it is good practice to keep a record of your amendment and any correspondence related to it.

4. **Documentation:**
- Maintain all relevant documents and records related to the original filing, the amendment, and any communication with the Service Tax department. This will help if any further clarification or verification is needed.

5. **Follow Up if Necessary:**
- If you do not receive any acknowledgment or if you encounter issues, you may want to contact the Service Tax department directly. Use the contact information provided on their official website or reach out to your local tax office.

6. **Review Your Online Account:**
- Regularly check your online account for updates or messages from the Service Tax department. They might provide further instructions or confirmations regarding your amendment.

### Summary:

1. **Verify that the amendment has been processed successfully.**
2. **Check the status of your amendment in the online system.**
3. **Inform the Service Tax department only if there is an issue or if you receive specific instructions to do so.**
4. **Keep all related documentation and records for your reference.**

If you have any doubts or if there are any specific instructions provided by the Service Tax department, it's always a good idea to seek advice from a tax professional to ensure that all compliance requirements are met.
