When I closed my NSS-1987 account in Jan 2014,the post office had deducted Rs 52487 and issued form 16A.To date they have not credited to my tax credit account.I met them personally and reminded through letters. So far they did not credit. If they fail to credit what should I do. Am i to pay the amount again !. If they fail to credit What action can we take against them? Will the income tax dept accept the Form 16A as proof of payment even when the money is not credited by the post office Financial year 2013-2014..
