Monthly payment to father

07 July 2015 Hi,
I Pay a monthly amount to my father, who is a pensioner, in cash to meet household, expenses. My query is:
1) can I show this amount to claim any income tax benefit. how this amount can be shown in the ITR's of my father & myself ?
2) do I need to pay this amount to him by cheque or bank transfers?

07 July 2015 1 No tax benefit can be claimed on this payment. In your return it can't be shown but in your father's return it can be shown as exempted income.
2 It can be paid in cash.
