My insurance agent paid the medical insurance of my parents from their account.
Can I claim this under parents medical insurance of 80D?
Can someone please give inputs on this?

The receipt has my fathers name on it. So will that not be a problem?

You can not claim it as the same has directly been paid from the insurer's accounts.

If you can show that against the premium paid by the agents, you have compensated them by paying an equal sum of money, you can claim the deduction.
