LIP deduction u/s 80c

02 March 2010 LIP premium receipt is on name of husband for LIC's Jeevan saathi poicy and paid by husband only.
So can wife claim deduction u/s 80 c against her income by producing that premium receipt?

02 March 2010 No. Wife cannot claim deduction u/s80C against her income. Deduction u/s80C will be available to Husband against his income as he has paid the the premium amount.
