SENSEX IS A GROUP OF 30 SHARES LISTED ON BSE AND NSE. IT IS ONE OF THE BENCHMARK INDEX OF INDIAN STOCK EXCHANGE. THE BASE YEAR OF THE INDEX IS 1978-79 base value is 100 index points. THE 30 COMPANIES IN THE SENSEX ARE SELECTED FROM ALL THE SECTORS OF OUR ECONOMY AND SO IT REPRESENT THE OVERALL ECONOMIC SCENERIO.
