Know your pan..how ??

20 September 2012 To know whether or not person holds PAN card , i entered correct details in "KNOW YOUR PAN (incometaxindia.gov.in website)"....
It showed me message saying " records are not matching"
What does it mean?Does it mean,person does not hold PAN?
Is there any other way to find out whether or not person holds PAN ?

(Here the Assessee in question is dead)

20 September 2012 What ever you are entering the details and the details in Income tax data base should match exactly, otherwise it shows records not match only. it doesnot mean you have not issued PAN card

its showing msg saying " no matching data found"

so is there any way to know whether a person has been issued a PAN card or no..?he holds PAN or no ? because the person is already dead and no other information is available

20 September 2012 It is not possible to find whether PAN issued or not based on the name details. Know your PAN is gives only all the records will match.
