Dear Experts,
I had filled all the details into the ITR excel sheet last day (31.07.12) except challan details of self assessement tax with interest/penalty which I had to pay as remaining tax payable. Afterwards I paid the tax and as I tried to fill challan details into the sheet, power had gone as you all are aware of power cut yesterday. Today I filled the challan details into the excel sheet and as I clicked on the "compute tax" button, I am surprised it has computed the penalty for today also which it should not as the last date of ITR filling has been extended to 31.08.12 as declared last evening. Now pls guide me if:-
1. I should download the updated excel file from income tax website and fill it again.
2. I should generate the XML file of the current excel sheet and upload it to the IT website.

As the date has been changed on 31.08.2012 itself the corresponding changes in the Utility are yet to be effected.
