14 November 2013 Until the department internally transfers the return, the right ward AO will remain in wrong impression that the assessee is a non-filer. But the return is treated as filed.

So, if you leave the matter at the peril of the department, you may receive a notice for non-filing of return.

You can intimate both the AO's by writing a letter to transfer the case in the jurisdictional ward.
