A PERSON HAS RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION OF F.Y. 2012-13 AS HE HAS NOT FILED ANY RETURN IN THAT YEAR. HE BOUGHT SHARES OF RS. 1 CRORE AND SOLD SHARES OF RS. 95 LAKH. HE HAS PAID TDS. INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT WANT TO KNOW THE REASON OF NON-FILING RETURN. WHAT DOES HE CAN DO NOW IN F.Y. 2015-16? DOES HE HAVE TO PAY PENALTY?

Please go through the correspondence received and if it says reply should be made through 'compliance module' do it online selecting the option 'return is under preparation'.
