31 July 2012 My Income from Salary comes under the IT slab, but I get deduction under 80C, The taxable income is below the slab. Thus TDS on salary is not been deducted from my salary. Still can I get the TDS Certificate. Do I need to get the TDS Certificate/ Form 16 from my employer?

31 July 2012 Choice is with the employer whether to give the salary certificate in form 16 or any other form.

31 July 2012 Although it is not mandatory to issue Form 16 in case of no deduction, you should still obtain a Form 16 from your employer.

This will be useful if you want to take a loan from the bank.
