Is there any limit on appointment of additional director?

As per sec 161 (1) of co act 2013, is there any limit on appointment on number of additional directors? Or board can appoint as many additional directors they wish to?

Subject to the provisions of section 149, the Board shall have power at any time,
and from time to time, to appoint a person as an additional director, provided the number of the directors and additional directors together shall not at any time exceed the maximum strength fixed for the Board by the articles.
As per section 149- Maximum no. of directors in a comapny is 15. company may appoint more than 15 directors after passing a
special resolution
