as far as legal compliance is concerned, income tax, service tax, epf, esi, bonus act, professional tax are applicable. need to register with all.

Service tax registration needs to be taken by a BPO since it is providing services. The services exported may be exempt then also registration is required immediately.

Dear Expert, With due regards to both Experts
As per the new charging section 66B "There shall be levied a tax (hereinafter referred to as the service tax) at the rate of twelve per cent on the value of all services, other than those services specified in the negative list, provided or agreed to be provided in the taxable territory by one person to another and collected in such manner as may be prescribed."
Sir if the services has been provided out of taxable territory then I think charge is not attracted and no question of Service tax at all.
I again mention the notification no. 26/2005 St dated 07-06-2005 as follows " “aggregate value of taxable service” means the sum total of first consecutive payments received during a financial year towards the gross amount, as prescribed under section 67 of the said Finance Act, charged by the service provider towards taxable services but does not include payments received towards such gross amount which are exempt from the whole of service tax leviable thereon under section 66 of the said Finance Act ( noe read as 66B) under any notification other than Notification No. 6/2005-Service Tax, dated the 1st March, 2005 .
