An assessee purchased immovable property in 2014 and did not deduct TDS @ 1%. Now a email has been received by him asking him to urgently deduct TDS and pay. He will also be liable for interest and penalty u/s 234E (Rs200 per day.) My question is that will he be able to claim the benefit of a certificate from CA (certificate 26A)of the payee(builder) that he has considered it as income and paid tax on it?
