27 August 2014 Sir,

This is continuing to the trailing mails, that I applied for ICWAI as a Postal Coaching Student since Jan-10. In this connection I have a doubt that Postal Coaching means it is a correspondence course and it is not direct / regular course. And also, I have been pursuing MBA in correspondence mode since Mar-12. In Form 112 it is ascertained that if article student pursuing other subject in correspondence mode he / she need not to submit the other education details in that form. Please clarify the doubt in detail.

Thanks & Regards,

01 August 2024 To reapply for the CA (Chartered Accountant) course with ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) and pursue ICMAI (Institute of Cost Accountants of India) examinations, follow these steps and address your concerns accordingly:

### **1. Joining ICAI as a B.Com Graduate:**

As a B.Com graduate with 60% marks, you are eligible to apply for CA under the following steps:

#### **a. Register for CA Foundation:**
- **Eligibility:** As per the updated norms, you need to clear the CA Foundation exam before entering the CA Intermediate (IPCC) course.
- **Registration:** Register for the CA Foundation course through the ICAI website.
- **Fee:** The registration fee for CA Foundation is approximately ₹9,000 (including examination fees). This can vary, so check the latest fee structure on the [ICAI website](https://www.icai.org).

#### **b. CA Intermediate Registration:**
- **Eligibility:** After passing the CA Foundation, you can register for the CA Intermediate course.
- **Fee:** The registration fee for CA Intermediate is approximately ₹15,000 to ₹20,000, depending on whether you opt for a single or both groups. Again, check the latest fee structure on the ICAI website.
- **Documents:** Submit your B.Com degree certificate, proof of date of birth, and other required documents.

### **2. Reapplying for ICMAI (formerly ICWAI):**

#### **a. Registration for ICMAI:**
- **Eligibility:** As you had previously registered but did not complete the course, you may need to re-register.
- **Exams:** ICMAI exams have three levels: Foundation, Intermediate, and Final. Since you want to appear for Intermediate, ensure you meet the eligibility criteria.
- **Fee:** Check the [ICMAI website](https://www.icmai.in) for the latest registration fees and structure.

#### **b. Study Materials:**
- Obtain updated study materials and guidelines from ICMAI, as the syllabus may have changed since your previous registration.

### **3. Postal Coaching vs. Regular Course:**

- **Postal Coaching:** This is indeed a correspondence course and does not require regular attendance at a coaching center.
- **Correspondence Mode:** If you are pursuing a correspondence MBA, you should be aware of the ICAI guidelines regarding pursuing other courses concurrently.

### **4. Form 112 and Other Education Details:**

- **Form 112:** This form is used for reporting other courses you are pursuing while undergoing articleship. As you are pursuing an MBA through correspondence, you generally do not need to provide details of such courses unless specifically required by the ICAI.
- **Guideline:** Ensure you comply with all ICAI regulations regarding pursuing additional education during your CA course.

### **5. Detailed Steps to Reapply:**

#### **For ICAI:**

1. **Register for CA Foundation:** If required, register online and complete the necessary formalities.
2. **Prepare for Exams:** Follow the study material and coaching (if needed) for the Foundation and Intermediate exams.
3. **Complete Articleship:** After passing the CA Intermediate exams, begin your articleship.

#### **For ICMAI:**

1. **Check Registration Status:** Verify if you need to re-register or if your previous registration can be reinstated.
2. **Study Materials:** Get the updated study materials and start preparing for the exams.

### **6. Additional Resources:**

- **ICAI Website:** [ICAI](https://www.icai.org)
- **ICMAI Website:** [ICMAI](https://www.icmai.in)

Make sure to check the latest guidelines on the respective websites or contact their support for the most accurate and updated information.
