Is it compulsory to start the invoice no from sl no 1 in the new FY ?

No it is not compulsory. You may give the next number of the running series. Rule 46 of CGST Rules.

Thanks. However I find a notification on GST website that from 1/4/19 new unique series to be started. In our case the nos will be unique in the sense that it will not repeat. But it is continuation from the last year. Is this enough?
