30 November 2008 A Pvt Ltd. which is registered under MVAT for its manufacturing facility in Maharashtra, set up another manufacturing facility in other State.

Is it required to include the new manufacturing facility in another
state as an additional place of
business under MVAT registration to the
Rerturn Branch ?

01 December 2008 The manufacturing company is already established in Maharashtra. When the company has opened another unit in other state then just intimation of additional place is not sufficient. The unit has to apply for and get registration in the new state since VAT is a state matter.While applying for in the new state fact of running unit in Maharashtra is to be disclosed. Likewise in Maharashtra also intimation of opening new unit in other state is to be given.
