16 February 2013 My client is having a joint account with his wife who passed away 6 months back.I wanted to confirm that the interest earned on the F.D.& S.B.account belonging to his wife is taxable in his hands or not.

16 February 2013 Income can be shown by the husband from the date (of death of wife) in his return. It is assumed that no other perso or child of her has got right over the FD and SB A/c Balance.
