It has been learnt,that a copy of PAN card is required to be submitted, in case there is a transaction over Rs.50,000/-. It is not clear to me, whether it is for a customer requiring cash deposit to the bank or otherwise.
An insurance claim regarding car accident around Rs. 56,000/- is expected to be finalized by the Insurance Company, the amount is to be credited by insurance company through NEFT to my account. Please guide whether a copy of PAN card will be required to be submitted to insurence authorities or not.

Thanks for your reply.
It was heard from one of the staff members of car service station,that copy of PAN Card will be required by the Insurance Company before payment through NEFT to my account.
In case any insurance company employee asks for copy of PAN Card,how to answer this point, that it is not required, so that I can also quote with reference to rules,that copy of PAN Card is not required, so that the insurance company staff can not harrash or confuse me unnecessarily.
In order to avoid/face the above confusion, please quote reference to instructions under which the copy of PAN Card is not required to be produced to the insurance authorities in such case.
In view of above situation kindly do not mind and hope to please intimate reference to the instructions, so that I feel confidence and can also quote/reply such instructions, if needed.

20 February 2015 you must instead ask the concerned personnel to show you the reference of any rule or circular stating the same
