What is the time limit for carrying forward input tax credit as per any state VAT Act?

Input Tax Credit under VAT Act can be carried forward for a period of 2 years.

Otherwise just want to know if the input tax credit is of April month due to procedural lapse in GRN dept or delay in accepting the vendor bill but the vendor has given has given bill for april month , can we take it to July month for filing VAT returns.
