18 November 2025 Is input credit is denied to vendor in case of correct GST 1 UPLOADED RETURNS with correct invoice number and wrongly typed invoice issued to vendor for the sales by the party ?

GST invoice number is correctly uploaded but client issued wrongly typed to vendor.

Vendor said that due to mismatch in invoice number they did not get input credit.

19 November 2025 ITC will NOT be denied simply because the printed invoice number is wrong.
ITC is allowed if the supplier has uploaded the correct invoice in GSTR-1, and it appears in the buyer’s GSTR-2B.

The vendor is not getting ITC because the invoice is not appearing in GSTR-2B due to some mismatch (GSTIN/date/type), NOT because of the invoice image mismatch.

Supplier must check and amend GSTR-1 accordingly.

21 November 2025 supplier has correctly uploaded invoice number in GST portal GSTR 1. but on the other hand they have given wrongly typed invoice number to their customers. now customer says that they are not getting input credit. also amendment are not possible for 2024-25. What to do. luckily every one same amount of input credit. there is only question of wrong invoice issued by supplier to tenant. rental income on commercial office case. same rent and same amount of GST every month since 01.04.2024.
