11 September 2009 YES Provided the bond should be of National Highway Authority of India Or Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd and such bonds are notified by the Central government for the purpose of section 54 EC of The Income tax Act,1961.

Ref:- Notification No. S.O.2146(E) DATED 22-12-2006reported in 288 ITR (St) may also be looked into.
