Income tax returns filing for ay: 2010-11, 2011-12

12 June 2013 Dear All,

I want to know the procedure to file the income tax returns for AY:2010-11 and 2011-12 now. When I am trying to file the return through online, it says "Due date is over".

Kindly confirm whether I can file income tax return now or not. If I can please let me know the procedure. Thanks.

12 June 2013 it is not possible at present AY 2010-11
RETURN FILING DUE DATE WAS JULY -11
BUT BEFORE ASSESSMENT YOU CAN FILE RETURN
AND INCOME ASSESSMENT OF A.Y. 2010-11 WAS COMPLETED ON DT. 31.3.2012 AND
A Y 2011-12 ASSESSMENT COMPLETED ON DT. 31.3.2013

Is there any chance to file the income tax returns manually in the counter for AY: 2010-11 and 2011-12 now to get the acknowledgment at least. I have my form 16 for both the years.

12 June 2013 ***if you have any refund amount in above said years..

Online filing of return is not possible..

But it is possible by manual filing.

Please refer section 119(2)..read along with circular 8/2001 dated 16/05/2001.

We do not have any refund but I want to file the return and get the acknowledgment.

There is no tax payable and refund. Pls advice. Thanks in advance

12 June 2013 It is not possible in such case..unless and other wise department furnishes any notice to you..

17 June 2013 Dear Ganesh Babu, I have received a letter from IT Department for non filing of income tax returns.

Now I am planing to file my returns but the ITO is asking covering letter with the reason for con-donation of delay.

Kindly please let me know under which provision I can file the return and sufficient reason to request for condonation of delay.
