If an income tax return is filed physically, but not signed. Will there be any penalty or other obligation? Will the return be accepted?

ITR filed manually without signature of the assess it defective. so, in this case, the return filed will be treated as defective and it will be assumed that such return was not filed.

If an income tax return is not signed, that return is 'invalid'.
