03 December 2014 I have filed income tax return for AY 2014-15 belatedly. I paid the self assessment tax but i failed to enter in the income tax return and i filed the same with the department and acknowledgement was generated with tax payable.

How can I correct the return as i have filed the return belatedly.
Please help

03 December 2014 belated return are not allowed to be revised hence now u can file a rectification request u/s 154.

03 December 2014 Alternatively, check your 26AS. If the self assessment tax is duly reflected...dont worry, CPC will give the credit for the same, although NOT shown by you in the return.

03 December 2014 Ther is always a difference between LAW and PRACTICE. Going by theory, YES your return is DEFECTIVE. Assessing Officer has every right to REJECT the same.
