Income credited to NRE

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the taxability of salary income credited to an NRE account for individuals who are considered resident in India. Even if the income originates from overseas employment, if an individual's residential status is deemed 'resident' in India for the financial year, that income is generally taxable in India. Relief may be available for taxes already paid abroad.
