PLs. give me in detail,the procedures & documents required for getting Import & Export Code.

21 September 2007 For carrying out any Import-Export transactions from India. As per the Govt. Of India rules and Regulations IEC is mandatory for all accept some category being exempted.
For obtaining Import Export code number, you have to apply in prescrived Aayat- Niryaat form to the DGFT office of your Jurisdiction.
The document required depends on the formation of company and business carried out for e.g. : merchant exports, manufacturer-exporter, service provider, etc.,
The basic requirement is PAN number and Bank A/c., only. all other document depends on the type of company and business to be carried out.

you may purchase Foreign Trade Policy available at any Government Book Stall in your own city. It provides all information plus forms for applying for IEC.
