HRA & Self Occupied property

27 June 2008 If person has self occupied property & also give rent to other person.

Renr paid is allowed to consider for HRA calculation

27 June 2008 If person has self occupied property in a city..but he stays in Rented house in the same city..Then he can't claim HRA exemption..Entire HRA recieved is Taxed..

But if place of Self occupied property & Place of rented house are different(i.e if the person even though having own house, stays in rented as a result of his employment in different place or city)Then he can claim HRA..
